Chairman Zou Weimin Meets with South Sudan Amb. Monday Semaya

On Apr. 9th, Zou Weimin, chairman of MCC Overseas met with South Sudan Ambassador Monday Semaya and his delegation. The two sides had a friendly and fruitful talk.


Chairman Zou welcomed Amb. Monday and his delegation. He said, MCC Overseas has been friends with South Sudan for years and it’s delightful to see significant progress in the cooperation of both sides with strong support from President Kiir and Vice-President Igga.


Ambassador Monday expressed his appreciation for the hospitality he received from MCC Overseas and delivered the warm greetings and best wishes that President Kiir and Vice-President Igga extended to MCC Overseas. He pointed out that, a Peace Agreement has been signed to end civil war and conflicts. With stability assured, the country is in desperate need for infrastructure like roads and bridges, power plants, and housing. Government of South Sudan is more than happy to have Chinese enterprises like MCC Overseas to develop business in South Sudan.


Chairman responded with pleasure that MCC Overseas would love to explore ways to develop business and to help boost South Sudan economy with viable mechanisms. He stressed that, MCC, after its strategic combination with China Minmetals, is now the largest metal mining enterprise and the largest metallurgical service provider which has rich experience and great expertise in metal mining. Therefore, cooperation in mining development and metallurgical construction in South Sudan is promising for both sides. MCC Overseas is looking forward to moving the cooperation to next level.


Gen. Malou Aleu Deng Malou and Lt. Col. Ruai Beliu Gutluak from the Embassy of South Sudan, President Yang Ruobing, Vice-President Chen Changan, and Secretary of the Board Li Shichang from MCC Overseas attended the meeting.
