Chairman Zou Weimin meets with the Angola Ambassador to China Mr. Joao Garcia Bires in the Embassy of Angola, Beijing

On the morning of November 15th, Chairman Zou Weimin met with the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Joao Garcia Bires in the Embassy of Angola, Beijing. Both Parties had a friendly exchange regarding numerous topics including their views on Angolan infrastructure development, resource exploration, and investment and financing patterns.

Chairman Zou expressed his gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Bires for making the time to meet our team and emphatically introduced MCC Group’s substantial experience and expertise in metallurgical construction and resource exploration. In addition, he also highlighted MCC Group’s significant track record in industrial equipment manufacturing and real estate development. Being the key platform through which MCC Group develops its overseas markets and implements its overseas strategy, MCC Overseas has international subsidiaries and offices in over 30 countries and regions around the world. Led by the resounding success of the 19th CPC National Congress and continued support of the “One Belt One Road” initiative, Chairman Zou expressed his hope that Ambassador Bires could continue to provide guidance and support in encouraging the mutual cooperation between Parties in the industrial, mining, and infrastructure sectors and MCC Overseas’ commitment to contributing advanced technology, equipment, and services to promote the economic growth and development of Angola.


H.E. Ambassador Mr. Bires thanked Chairman Zou for his support and positively confirmed the establishment of the new administration and their continued agenda to promote economic development, increase employment opportunities, and prioritize domestic resource exploration and development. Ambassador Bires expressed enthusiasm in deepening the cooperation with MCC Overseas in the resource exploration, industrial engineering, and municipal engineering sectors including potential steel mill and water utility projects. In addition to commenting on the presence of Chinese SOEs in his country, Ambassador Bires also discussed new government policy agendas regarding economic development and local investment and financing trends and models.


Also in attendance were Angolan Embassy Counsellor Mr. Virgilio Antonio Zulumongo, MCCO Director of Public Relations Ms. Janice Xu, and MCCO Senior Project Manager Mr. Kong Qingqiang.
