MCC Overseas Signs EPC Contract with Hong Kong Water Supplies Department

On May 23rd, signing ceremony of the Hong Kong Government Project——upgrading of Chai Wan Salt Water Supply System – main-laying and upgrading of Siu Sai Wan Salt Water Pumping Station, co-contracted by China Metallurgical Overseas Hong Kong Limited and Chunwo Construction & Engineering Co. LTD., was held at the Water Supplies Department. Zou Weimin, Chairman of MCC Overseas and Andy C.S.Yiu, Vice Chairman of Chunwo,on behalf of the two companies, signed EPC contract with the Water Supplies Department, which was represented by its Assistant Director LUK Wai Hung.


The project will upgrade the existing Siu Sai Wan pumping station in Chai Wan, Hong Kong, and a 3.8 km long sea water pipe will be laid in the Siu Sai Wan area. The project will be carried out in the form of JV consortium. "Chunwo" is one of Hong Kong local listed companies with great reputation and credibility, and many years of experience in cooperating with Chinese enterprises. It has won loads of government awards for construction, safety management and environmental protection. MCCO Hong Kong and Chunwo will uphold their entrepreneurial spirit, and jointly promote the implementation of the project.


After the signing ceremony, Chairman Zou and Mr. LUK Wai Hung visited the project construction site, accompanied by Wang Qi, Managing Director of MCCO Hong Kong. MCCO Hong Kong undertook a project of Water Supplies Department in 1995 ——"Tsuen Wan Oil Orange Water Treatment Plant". Chairman Zou Weimin told all the managing and accompanying staff that it is their duty to maintain the reputation that MCC Group has won for the last 30 years and continue to carry forward the "Never delaying, Never slacking” spirit of MCC, and wish them still further and greater progress in the coming new project.
